Applying for a Remortgage
When you apply for your mortgage, our Mortgage Affordability Calculator can help to give you a guide of how much
you are able to borrow, based on the information you supply. You could
remortgage the exact amount remaining on your existing mortgage, or
borrow more to
take advantage of any equity in your home.
After you have received your remortgage
quote and chosen the remortgage deal that’s right for you, you
can apply
for your mortgage over the telephone or by
visiting your local Santander branch.
When you remortgage with us, we arrange a free standard valuation
of your home on properties valued up to £2.5m and will also take care of the standard legal work required, usually
at no cost to you. You only need to repay the standard legal work if you pay off your mortgage in the first two years.
Please note, all applications are subject to status and our current lending criteria. This means that the amount we will lend you will depend on your individual circumstances, the type of property and the amount you borrow. For example, we may require a higher deposit if you have a flat.
