Step 1 – Find out about our lowest mortgage loan rates – use one of our mortgage calculators to see how much you could borrow and what your repayments could be.

Step 2 – Apply for your Santander mortgage over the telephone or by visiting your local branch including arranging home insurance, if required.

Step 3 – The valuation and survey - before we agree your mortgage application, we’ll arrange a valuation of the property. Depending on your Santander mortgage you may be eligible for a free basic valuation on properties valued up to £2.5m and help with standard legal fees.*

Step 4 – Your Santander mortgage offer - if your application is successful and the property is satisfactory for our lending requirements, we will write to you with your mortgage offer, which will include terms and conditions.

Step 5 – Completion - once the legal work has been taken care of, a completion date will be agreed. We’ll make the money available so that your Santander mortgage can be completed.
